Like a lot of other B&BW fans, I was just a little distraught when it came time for spring scents to come out. I expected to see my favorite from last year, Wild Apple Daffodil, but didn’t. It appeared that B&BW decided not to bring it back this year. I was a little upset but I moved on to other things. When they came out with their newest scent, Beautiful Day, I thought it may be just like Carried Away, so I paid no attention.

Come to find out, Beautiful Day is very similar to Wild Apple Daffodil. From the mouths of the people I’ve talked with on Makeupalley, they say that the two are by no means spot on, but they’re close enough that if you’re missing one of your favorite scents, it’s a nice consolidation. It even has the potential to replace WAD for some.

I hope that helped out some of our Wild Appple Daffodil fans!

Has B&BW ever discontinued your favorite scent? How did you move on? Comment below and tell me your story!

As all of us know, turtle necks catch a lot of crap in the fashion industry. They’re generally thought of as grandma-ish, or a little too Osh-Kosh for most people to even think of getting near. Personally, I’ve been obsessed with them. I’m not talking about those thick, cotton ones with fall prints strewn across the front, or those ugly Christmas ones, I’m talking about a sophisticated turtle neck. I wore one last week and even got described as a ‘sexy teacher’.

The trick to picking a turtle neck is to find what you want out of it before you go out buying one. I can tell you right now, you want one that is tight and form fitting, and also made of a fairly thin material. Look at the pictures below and you’ll see a common denominator in all of them. In every picture some part of the outfit is form fitting. If it isn’t the turtleneck, it’s the pants, or there is a pair of ever so sexy stilettos thrown in there. They key is to rock the sophistication, without being matronly.

Turtle necks are also a great way to rock an interesting necklace, or a cool scarf, as shown in the first picture. I chose to wear one with a long chunky gold chain, and it really complimented the top.

But a message to all busty girls considering taking the plunge of sophisticasy; there are other ways! Stear clear of this one! A turtle neck does nothing but draw attention to your bosoms, even making them look larger than they normally do! If you’re fine accentuating them, then rock it, but if they’re one of your problem areas, they do not come recommended! I understand the struggle, but this one just shouldn’t be done, unless you’re prepared for some unwanted attention from a few of the worlds finest pig heads!

As a self proclaimed chap stick addict, I recoiled in horror when I discovered this in my stocking. As a chocolate addict as well, it’s safe the say I’ve tried just about every chocolate chap stick out there and been terribly disappointed. Hershey’s chap stick? Reeces chap stick? I think we’ve all seen them taunting us in the impulse buy section at Walmart, and we’ve all caved, buying and trying them only to discover how disgusting they are. It seems like everyone is turning candy into chap stick flavors these days, and everyone is failing miserably at it. They always taste terrible, and are too hard to even apply, or worse, feel like brown chocolaty butter.

But alas! Chap Stick brand has come to save us all! Seriously! My expectations were rock bottom for this one, but I’ve just been blown away. Now granted, when compared to their other regular flavors, this chap stick isn’t the best, but it’s definetly the best chocolate chapstick out there! It does it’s job without offering a nauseatingly offensive flavor or nasty color, and the texture is up to standard. Unfortantly, it doesn’t offer an SPF, and you could write a novel with the amount of words in the ingredients list, but over all it meets my needs. It’s in the usual chap stick tube, it soothes chapped lips, and better yet it prevents them while offering a nice pleasant flavor. I guess what I’m saying is that I’m happy that it doesn’t suck. This product by no means is blowing me out of the water, it just isn’t a disappointment, which is a first for this chocolaty concept.

Thank you chap stick. Thank you for revolutionizing the chocolate lip balm industry. Hats off to you.

and some people call me the gangster of tivo.

Did you get that reference? If you did, then we’re now best friends. Congrats.

Guys, I have a problem. My lack of posting videos and lack of website posts is no longer because I have no time. It’s because I have no concept of time management. I watch tv like a mad woman. Or mad men? get it? *sigh* I’ve seriously seen just about every show out there, except for a lot of the crime-cop-y shows. I feel like those are all the same so I don’t bother with them, but anything on FX, or the CW I’ve seen every episode. And we can’t forget the ever so embarrassing ABC family. I don’t even watch good shows. I’ll admit I even watch Pretty Little Liars. I feel like Julianne Moore in Crazy, Stupid, Love when she tells Steve Carrell about the time she went to see Twilight on her own. It’s all just *SO* bad, guys.

Does anyone have any tips for breaking a tv addiction they’re willing to share? Any would be greatly appreciated!

I think I just became one of those rabid Pintrest bearing, riding boots wearing, Tiffany blue loving pintresters by posting this, but hey. I’d rather share a little piece of my life and enjoy it than care about what whether or not other people choose to talk about the good things in life.

1. I’m thankful for my family. Duh. I wouldn’t be who I am, and be where I am without them. Although I seem to always be butting heads with my mom, but in the end she has given me some valuable tools that I don’t see other kids around me using, or even knowing about. Not to mention my brother, being the best possible brother he can be. He isn’t over protective or in my face, he’s the front runner to all new experiences, begin the older one makes it a given, and he’s the most to shop with of all of my thirfting friends. He really is my best friend. Him, and my cat. I love them all, and they’ve really helped shape who I am, as well as who I’m going to be for the rest of my days on this planet. So far, I’m happy with what we’ve made.

2. I’m thankful for my friends. You people put up with a lot, and I really appreciate it. I know I can be a handful most of the time, and I’m sorry. I’m glad you’ve decided to stick with me for the long haul, and I love how much fun we have when we really get into it. You guys are all my favorites for a reason, and I’ll always have a place in my heart for each ad every single one of you, good memories or bad.

3. I’m thankful for my job. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be an adult with adult responsibilities and be unable to find a job to support not only yourself, but a family. Even though I work at McDonald’s it really is a good job. In the end of the day I’m paid, I’m treated fairly, and nobody is grabbing my ass in the freezer. It’s more than most people get, and I’m blessed to work with who I work with. I’ve made friendships, strengthened others, and lost some, but in the end, it’s all worth it. For the experience, for the friends, and for the growth that I’ve seen in myself since starting. Thank you McDonalds.

I’m thankful for so much more, but I don’t want to bog you guys down and bore you til tomorrow, so I’ll just stick with four for now. Maybe you’ll get a continuation around Christmas. We’ll just have to see.

4. Lastly. I’m thankful for you guys. Without your attention, your views, and your kind words I would be no where. You guys didn’t just help me build a website, but helped me move on as a child and have been with me as I moved from being just a teenager, to being an adult. You were with me when I turned 14, and you were with me when I turned 17, and I pray to god you’ll still be here with me when I turn 25, because I really do enjoy you guys’s company.

God. Posts like this just give me the warm fuzzies. It makes me truly realize that life is good, and it’s not something to take for granted.

I’m going to go put on my riding boots, bake cute cupcakes, and paint my nails Tiffany blue now, Thanks.

This post is a bitter sweet one. It’s currently 11:30 at night, and I really should be in bed by now. I’m tired because I worked all day, I’m frustrated with how dirty my room is, and my paycheck has been sitting in my purse uncashed for a week now. Oh, and did I mention I have a seven page paper due first block tomorrow, and I have yet to finish page two? Sadly, I didn’t even sugar coat that.

I figure, as one last thing slap in the face to the paper, I’ll write something else. It’s not even like I can blame this on a lack of creative juices flowing about in my head. They’re there, I just don’t feel like school work.

Does anyone else have a procrastination problem? I’ve had one since the beginning of time, and just when I think I’m getting a hold of my life and developing some self control, nights like this happen when I completely drop the ball. I know that there is no outside force that can intervene and fix this. Only I can. There is nothing in the world that is going to make me work, other than self control, which I am lacking. I am ultimately what is holding me back.

Yesterday in a conversation with my mom about flaws she told me that our own worst enemies are always ourselves, and although I don’t want to admit it, it’s true. Every time I fall of the wagon on a diet, it’s because I decided to order Chinese. Every time I turn in homework late, it’s because I didn’t make it enough of a priority to remember. Every time I need to fill up my tank I’m stressed because I always put it off until my car can only make it a few more miles. I always have the money to fill up, I’m just too lazy to do it in the cold.

Well, while I sit here talking to you lovely people, I keep snapping myself awake. I should really go!

I love you all, and I’ll talk to you lovelies later! <3

Being as weird as I am, I’ve tried to dress differently for the majority of my mature life. I don’t know why, but I feel that advertising my weird is a way to express myself. I mean, if you can tell how weird I am just by looking at me, then I just saved you a few minutes of judging me, right?

Anyway. Most days I figure out my outfits easily, but recently I’ve been stuck in a rut. I’ve had the clothes, just not the ability to put the outfits all together. It just hasn’t been coming to me naturally. One of my biggest sources for inspiration in these times is a site called Lookbook. It’s basically a site where hipsters from all over the world post their outfits of the days, and there is some serious style on there. You can get an idea about what is high fashion in other parts of the world, even if you’re just stuck in the fly over zone, like myself. Some people post things that I could never imagine wearing in public, and some people post outfits that are a little more wearable that I like to take aspects from and use in my own outfits.

Check it out! I doubt you’ll be disappointed!

For a while now I’ve been poking at the idea of buying a pair of doc martins. I mean, they’re a staple in the grunge fashion wardrobe, and I’ve been wanting to dress a little more grunge lately. Anyway, they’re the most expensive shoes I’ve ever cosidered buying, and thats the main thing that’s keeping me from pulling the trigger. But, as usual, Target came to my rescue.

They’re selling knock offs for only $34.95, and they look just as great. I looked online, thinking I’d buy a red pair, but I saw that they had a blue pair as well as a silver metallic pair on clearance for only $29! I’m looking forward to making some pretty rad outfits out of these beauts!

Lookie!

Many people who know me know that I complain a lot about trends. I just have never been the type of person who could justify spending a lot of money on something that will only be good for one season, and often by the time I figure out if I want it or not, the trend is already half over. Like the color mint. Everyone is tired of mint, and I’m just now deciding it’s okay! No way am I spending the big $$ on anything mint in the near future.

Click the image to see where the picture is from!

Anyway, I should stop ranting. The point is, when I find a trend that I like, it’s rare. This year, as I think it is every year, raspberry lips are totally in this year. As you can see in a picture of Chanel Iman above, a raspberry lip can add that little bit of extra needed to edgy outfit, or look at the picture of Emma Watson rocking a pixie cut looking as proper as ever. Raspberries flatter most skin tones, and people of all ethnicities, and it’s all up to finding the one for your skin!
